Help With the Relief Efforts In Haiti

Dear MBCHC Staff, Friends, and Supporters,

As you well know, a catastrophic earthquake struck in Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas Tuesday.  The full damage has not been assessed.  The death toll has already reached well into the thousands and is predicted to possibly reach the hundreds of thousands.  The devastation is enormous, affecting as many as three million people directly.

Our Miami-Dade community and our Miami Beach Community Health Center family have also been struck by this horrific disaster.  Family members have died, are missing, and all are in dire need of basic humanitarian supplies as well as our prayers.  We work every day to promote wellness, healing and improve the quality of life in our community.  A section of our philosophy states; “The Board and staff also believe that each individual is a worthy human being; functions as a system within a larger system.”  At this very moment, this larger system is our world community, and it is calling us to help our Haitian neighbors.

Let us respond quickly and in a unified approach by making a cash donation to the Haitian relief effort.  Our gift will be distinctly made in the name of the Miami Beach Community Health Center.  Funds will be collected at our corporate office, and we will work with the Center for Haitian Studies to determine where the funds will have the greatest impact.  For staff, your gift can be made through payroll deduction, should that be more convenient for you.  Please contact Angie Aguila, Senior Executive Vice President of Human Resources, at 305-695-2171.  Gifts can also be made through PayPal on our website, CLICK HERE , or mailed to the attention of our Finance Department at our corporate office at 11645 Biscayne Boulevard, Suite 207, North Miami, Florida 33181.  Checks should be made payable to the Miami Beach Community Health Center, subject “Donation for Haiti.”

I personally thank each and every one of you for your generosity and concern.  I know I can count on your help and 100% participation.  This is a defining moment for our Haitian neighbors, friends and families.  I know the Miami Beach Community Health Center staff, friends, and supporters will rise to the occasion.
